How Does this Program Provide FREE Education?

We’re a nonprofit with a mission to get our Central Texas neighbors into great careers. Each year, Capital IDEA raises enough money to pay for tuition and textbooks for over 800 adults, like you! If you’re eligible for our program, you can earn your college degree with no debt and no loans because your tuition and textbooks are already paid for by the generous support of funders like: City of Austin, Travis County, Hays County, and St. David’s Foundation.

CareerUp Online info sessions are hosted in Zoom and take 25 to 35 minutes. We'll go over the support we offer, the careers we're recruiting for, qualifications, and answer your questions. We look forward to meeting you!

4 Step Application Process

Get Started with Your Free Degree

Step 1. Get to Know Us — CareerUp Info Session

Before you get started on paperwork, we want you to get to know our program including our support and qualifications. Attend a CareerUp Info Session in person or over Zoom. (25-45 minutes)

Step 2. Fill Out an Application

Next, fill out your application using our secure and encrypted database. Its easy & fast. (15-20 minutes)

Step 3. Upload Documents

When you complete your application, you’ll get an automated email with a link to create a password to login to the applicant dashboard. Make sure to set up your password before the link expires. Once you have your login, it’s time to start submitting your documents. (30 min-2 hrs)

Step 4. Take An Assessment

When you've completed step 3, we'll email you a link to an online personality and aptitude assessment. When it's done, you've officially applied! (30 minutes) Everything you've submitted will be reviewed with a helpful team member in your guidance appointment to follow.
